In 2008, the BMD Club of Nashoba Valley spun off its rescue and education programs into a separate 501(c)(3) corporation. Berner Inc. (Bernese Education and Rescue – Northeast Region) is a non-profit organization, staffed by volunteers. They provide medical care and placement in adoptive homes for Bernese Mountain Dogs who have been surrendered. They also educate the public on the responsible acquisition, care, and training of BMDs in the hope that we can thus reduce the number of Bernese Mountain Dogs who are relinquished to rescue or shelters.
